Project details :

The facade of Gamlestadens resecenter (travel center) is based on double skin element facade with WICLINE 75 evo and a single skin element facade based on WICTEC 50 EL. In addition, a facade consisting of WICTEC 50 has been used. Through fully glazed facades, maximum transparency are given both exterior and interior. The system solution has exellent thermal- and sound-insulating performance that reduce the sound from a very lively environment outside.

Gamlestaden is a part of the expansion of the district Gamlestaden in Gothenburg. The travel center was one of the first steps in the ongoing development of the area. The mixed-use main building, with its 17 floors, is visible from afar. On ground level there is a public space with service and commerce dedicated to travellers, whereas the upper floors contain office space

The aim with Gamlestaden Travel Centre has been to create a welcoming and dynamic hub with mixed functions and a flow of people that generates urban life and safety throughout the day. On a daily basis, 40 000 people are passing by and using the trams, buses and commuter trains that are easily reached from the transport hub.
